Air Travel

There are two main airports we recommend for your arrival:

Oakland International Airport (OAK)

Oakland International Airport is closest to Berkeley.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is an easy and inexpensive option for getting to Berkeley from OAK. Take BART from Terminal 1 to the Coliseum BART station, and then transfer to a Richmond-bound train to the Downtown Berkeley BART station ($8.60 one way). Plan your BART trip.

Airport shuttles are also available. Click here to view the shuttle transportation options serving OAK.

Taxi service is also available from approximately $50, plus gratuity.

BART also serves SFO. Take the SFO AirTrain (free) from the terminal to the SFO BART station. Board a Pittsburg/Bay Point-bound BART train. At the 19th St. Oakland station, transfer to a Richmond bound BART train to the Downtown Berkeley station ($9.55 one way). Plan your BART trip.
